Information is general, not advice for your dog

Everything published on this site — including service pages, suburb guides and blog articles — is general information. It is not a behavioural assessment of your dog, and it cannot be. Dogs differ enormously, and advice that helps one can be actively harmful to another.

Do not rely on anything here as a substitute for an in-person assessment, and do not use it in place of veterinary advice.

Veterinary matters

I am a dog trainer, not a veterinarian. Pain and illness cause a great deal of behaviour change, particularly where it appears suddenly or in an older dog. If there is any possibility your dog’s behaviour has a medical cause, see your vet. Where I think a case needs veterinary input or a veterinary behaviourist, I will tell you.

No guarantee of outcomes

Behaviour change depends heavily on factors outside my control — your dog’s history and genetics, its health, your household, and how consistently the plan is followed after a session. I do not guarantee any particular result, timeframe or outcome, and I will always give you an honest assessment rather than an optimistic one.

Your responsibilities

You remain responsible for your dog at all times, including during and after any session. That includes:

• Telling me, before the session, about any history of biting, aggression or injury to a person or another animal
• Keeping your dog under effective control and complying with your council’s requirements and the Dog and Cat Management Act 1995 (SA)
• Maintaining current registration and vaccinations
• Making sure everyone in the household follows the plan we agree

Withholding a bite history changes what I do in your house and can put people at risk. Please do not.

Bookings and cancellations

Bookings are confirmed directly with me. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give as much notice as you reasonably can — particularly for Fleurieu bookings, which are grouped into runs and where a late cancellation affects other households in the same trip.

Payment

Current rates and payment arrangements are confirmed with you before a session goes ahead.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, and to the extent permitted by law, my liability arising out of the services is limited to resupplying the services or paying the cost of having them resupplied.

This site links to councils, parks authorities and other external organisations for your convenience. I do not control those sites and I am not responsible for their content. Rules published by councils and parks authorities change — always confirm current requirements directly with them.

Intellectual property

The content, branding and design of this site are owned by Dog Obedience Guy or used under licence, and may not be reproduced without permission.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia.
